In mainstream UX design, we often focus on users in urban environments with seamless internet access, smartphones, and digital familiarity. But what happens when we design for users in rural or non-urban geographies, where technology access is limited, literacy levels vary, and cultural nuances shape digital interactions?
This workshop will explore design research in the social impact sector, focusing on how to understand and build for users who are not traditionally represented in mainstream UX research. Participants will dive into qualitative research methods and learn how to apply them effectively in diverse, real-world contexts.
Why Should You Attend? π Learn how to conduct UX research in non-urban geographies, where traditional digital assumptions donβt always apply. π Discover qualitative research methods that help uncover deep insights in diverse communities. π Understand the challenges of designing for users with limited tech access and how to bridge the gap. π‘ Gain practical frameworks that can be applied to social impact projects, accessibility design, and beyond.
What Will You Learn? πΉ How to conduct design research in non-urban settings with minimal tech access. πΉ How qualitative research methods like interviews, shadowing, and participatory design can provide deep insights. πΉ How to design for cultural and contextual differences in non-urban environments.
